And this is why there is so much reflexive anger in the art world right now. It’s never been easier to be an artist. It’s also never been easier to make money PRETENDING to be an artist. Which means is’t never been more challenging and confusing to be an artist whose goal is to make a living.
H/t my friend Jon. I’m not as pessimistic as Howey is about people not caring whether something was written by AI or humans. We sure prefer chess played by humans, not AI. Etc etc. But I do think Howey’s correct that we’ve reached a turning point for artists.
